Whitewater Center
The Whitewater Center has lots of outdoor activities like ropes courses, white water rafting, zip lining, and kayaking on the Catawba River.
Optimist Hall
This is a large food hall with several food stalls sitting just outside Uptown Charlotte. Our favorite place to eat in Optimist Hall is Mezeh!
Downtown Concord
Concord has a small downtown district that was very recently revitalized. Notable spots are the Memorial Garden and What-A-Burger, not to be confused with Texas-based Whataburger. Located just 2 miles away is Gibson Mill, which has a food hall, axe throwing, and the largest antique mall in the Southeast.
Downtown Kannapolis
Kannapolis has a nice, walkable downtown with local shops and restaurants. The downtown area includes the Gem Theatre, one of the oldest single-screen movie theaters still operating in the United States, and the beautiful North Carolina Research Campus. We also enjoy watching Kannapolis Cannon Ballers baseball games, but they will unfortunately be playing away during the weekend of the wedding.
