The Washington Christmas parade is usually the 1st Saturday in December and will be located along Main Street downtown and starts around 10:00am. Go out and get into the holiday spirit before getting ready for the wedding. Stroll along the river front and view the boats decked out in holiday splendor.

Visit the world's first estuarium and one of North Carolina's most innovative environmental centers with more than 200 exhibits. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children K-12, and free for children under 5. The NC Estuarium is open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10:30am - 3:30 pm.
Goose Creek State Park has 8 miles of trails that lead visitors through a broad range of coastal experiences - live oaks draped in Spanish moss, wetlands along the Pamlico Sound, and a cypress swamp viewed from an extensive boardwalk.
