FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code? What should I wear?

Answer

We are asking all guests to dress in formal or semi-formal attire for the wedding.

Question

Will the ceremony/reception be inside or outside and where are they taking place?

Answer

Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be held inside the Washington Civic Center.

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party and some immediate family members will be nearby taking pictures for around one hour. During this time, guests will be transitioned from the ceremony space to a cocktail hour space. Once the reception is to begin, guest will return to the flipped reception area.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

A hotel block has been secured at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in Washington, NC. Please review travel page for more information about booking and price.

Question

What should I do if I am unable to make it?

Answer

You will certainly be missed! If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP "No," so we can plan accordingly.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, we are only allowing children in the wedding party and those in the bride and groom’s immediate families to attend. If your child is invited, their name will be listed on the wedding invitation. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time, leaving the kids home, and choosing to celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date? Do I get a plus 1?

Answer

We have a strict guest list so that we stay on budget. The wedding will be strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your wedding invitation.

Question

When will I receive my invitation and when will I need to RSVP by.

Answer

We will continue to update the answer here. At this time, you can expect formal invitations around August/September and RSVPs will need to be returned by October. It is important that we are a few months ahead, as we recognize our wedding falls right in the middle of the holiday season.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to ensure we are able to start on time

Question

Will food and drinks be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

Light hors d'oeuvres will be served during the cocktail hour. Dinner buffet will feature 2 meat options, with sides, and a salad. Tea, water, and lemonade will be available. We will be providing an open bar (beer, wine, champagne only).

Question

Can I take pictures and post on social media?

Answer

We are requesting that we have an unplugged wedding ceremony and allow only the photographers to take pictures during this time. During cocktail hour and the reception, we highly encourage guest to take pictures and post on their social media using our hashtag #ToHaveAndToHorne. Be sure to tag us in your posts!
