Walk along Monterrey's Riverwalk named Santa Lucia. It connects two important areas in Monterrey: the Macroplaza and Parque Fundidora. There are restaurants and lots of beautiful scenery to take in along the riverwalk. Entry is free, but you have to option to hop onto one of the tourist boats for $60 pesos (around $3/person).
A huge public park constructed where the old steel mill used to be. You can walk around, rent bikes, check out the giant steel ovens, go ice skating, go to the wax museum and enjoy the outdoors and beautiful scenery.
This is the main town square or plaza in the heart of Monterrey. The Macroplaza is the seventh-largest plaza in the world. It has an extension of 400,000 square meters consisting of various monuments, smaller plazas and gardens. Make sure to bring a few pesos to buy trinkets and snacks from local vendors.
Barrio Antiguo is Monterrey’s historic quarter, with cobblestone alleyways and colorful colonial architecture. Its booming nightlife scene has upscale beer bars, late-night electronic dance clubs, and live music venues featuring international and regional bands. Galleries showcase the work of local artists, and vendors sell art, handicrafts, and antiques. Sunday mornings there is a big open air market of artisan products and antiques.
A scenic waterfall near Santiago, about 30 minutes south of Monterrey. For the extra adventurous guests, there is one of the highest bungee jump locations in all of Mexico at the Hotel of Cola de Callallo.
