We tied the knot!

On November 8, 2024, we made it official and got married at the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse. "The celebration with all our loved ones can come later, it doesn't matter to us if we do the legal part a few days or a few months before that" - we said. And thank goodness we did! With a venue booked in Malibu, California for mid-may 2025, our plans were nearly upended when wildfires burnt down most of Malibu in January. By some stroke of luck, the venue we'd booked survived while many other structures didn't. But we had no idea what the area or recovery efforts would be like by May. So--we decided to postpone, hope that more time would make things easier, and celebrate our One Year Anniversary with friends and family instead! There may not be a ceremony or some of the other typical wedding traditions, but it's still the party we wanted to throw, in a place that we love and want to be part of the recovery for. But mostly, it's a chance to celebrate our love and this almost-as-special milestone with all our friends and family who are able to join us. We hope to see you there! With Love, Mat & Ashley
