Springfield Faves

Here’s a list of our favorite places in Springfield. Some are meaningful to us, while others are simply must-visit local spots. We’ve included options for food, drinks, and activities.
Fun Acre

Fun Acre

214 West Glenwood Street, Springfield, MO 65807

We went here on our first date and both consider this to the best mini golf course in the U.S. It's nothing fancy, but every hole has its own unique theme and for $3 you're basically robbing them. Bring cash & shoot low!

Bass Pro Shops

Bass Pro Shops

1 Bass Pro Drive, Springfield, MO 65807

Although neither one of us would consider Bass Pro our personal aesthetic's, we cannot escape our roots. It stands as one of the 7 wonders of Springfield MO. You can stock up on your camo and grab a drink at Hemingways (they have a giant fishtank behind the bar that is pretty cool). If you have a little extra time, the Wonder of Wildlife Aquarium is a must see. Most importantly, Jacob has met Johnny Morris, and wanted to share his claim to fame.

Sequiota Park

Sequiota Park

3500 South Lone Pine Avenue, Springfield, MO 65804

If you are looking for a nice walking trail or just a bit of nature this is one of our favorite parks in Springfield. Head north on the trail for a nice walk or you can explore the caves at the back of the park (near the water).

Dickerson Park Zoo

Dickerson Park Zoo

1401 West Norton Road, Springfield, MO 65803

Not the biggest zoo in the country, not the best zoo in the country... but still a lot of fun to walk around and see the animals.

St. George's Donuts

St. George's Donuts

3628 E. Sunshine St., Springfield, MO 65809

The best donuts we’ve had anywhere - no exaggeration. Forget Hurts. Forget Parlor. And yes, absolutely forget Krispy Kreme. If you’re a yeast-raised donut person, this is non-negotiable. They’re thick, soft, lightly glazed, and have that perfect bite (we cannot explain it… but iykyk). Ashlan's Pick: Classic Glazed - can't beat it! Jacob's Pick: Strawberry or Bavarian Cream Filled - tries to beat it!

Andy's Frozen Custard

Andy's Frozen Custard

If you grew up in Springfield, you already know.. but for our out-of-towners who have never tasted the glory of andy's frozen custard; This is a must try. Our go to order: Espresso Concrete (Ashlan) and --- (Jacob)

Mudhouse Coffee Springfield

Mudhouse Coffee Springfield

323 South Avenue, Springfield, MO 65806

Need a pick me up on Saturday after all that dancing? Mudhouse is one of the O.G. coffee shops in Springfield. Good coffee and cozy vibes all around. They also have great smoothies and breakfast options.

Gailey's Breakfast Cafe

Gailey's Breakfast Cafe

220 East Walnut Street, Springfield, MO 65806

This is a great old school diner spot for breakfast/brunch. There is typically is a bit of a wait so get there early or have a back up plan ready, but the sweet potato hashbrowns have healed on multiple occasions.

Neighbor's Mill Bakery & Café

Neighbor's Mill Bakery & Café

1435 East Independence Street, Springfield, MO 65804

Fantastic Breakfast and Brunch Spot. THere salads are amazing and they make all of their bread in house. If you stop by for breakfast, you have to get one of the cinnamon rolls (but get there early, they sell out fast).

Lambert's Café

Lambert's Café

1800 West State Highway J, Ozark, MO 65721

Possibly overhyped, this is purely for the thrown roll experience and the gigantic water cups. You can get just the "fixin's" (our personal favorite way to do it) or order an entree and the fixin's will come with it. Either way you've gotta try the fried okra (our favorite). You can also get a dozen roll's to-go if you're about that life. The real ones know.
