Wes and Ashima met on a dating app, which neither had much luck with in the past. It wasn’t typical to have such a great connection over text, but that is what happened between them. The first date took place in October 2019 at Radio Social, which is one of their favorite places to visit in the city. As Ashima approached the table that Wes was sitting at, he remembered being captivated by Ashima’s smile and bright personality. As the night continued, they spoke about their careers, ambitions, and about their different backgrounds. They continued talking until closing time, as they couldn’t grow tired of each other’s company. From that night, they both knew there was something special about one another.

Given that Ashima had chosen to put up with me for over a year, I decided that this was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I waited until she left for India to start shopping for the ring. Shortly after she returned from India, we planned a trip to Philly. I decided this was the perfect place to propose since she loved the city so much. On the day of the proposal, I wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be, as I knew this was what I wanted to do. We arrived at Love Park, she had no idea as we waited in line to have pictures taken under the Love Sign. When it was our turn to stand under the sign, I asked Ashima to be my wife, and she said "YES". We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in Rochester!!!
