In 2013, Carson and I met at a Relay For Life executive board meeting. I came home that night and told my roommates how cute I thought he was. As the year went on, we were just friends and our friendship grew until Carson graduated. I assumed Carson had moved away after graduation, so I was surprised when I saw him in the Greek Life Office for Recruitment the next year. I decided to ask him on my first sorority date night (a Braves game) as a friend-- I had a test the next day and did not want to be set up. A month or two later Carson asked me out for drinks at the GA Theater. A week later, he asked me on a real date, dinner at Trapeze -- the best date either of us had ever had. The rest is history.
Carson and I had plans with two of our close friends, Morgan and Lauren, to see a concert Tuesday, February 6th in Decatur. This was planned for months. I travel for work often so I wasn't even sure until the week before that I would be able to make it. Thankfully I did! During the concert everyone kept talking about how hungry they were-- which was not unusual so I thought nothing of it. We ended up leaving the concert early so that we could go to dinner; Carson and Morgan were "so hungry". On the walk from the concert venue to the restaurant, Morgan and Lauren started running away from us... "that was weird," I thought but still had no idea. Sure enough just a few minutes later Carson got down on one knee to ask me to be his wife. Carson had arranged for my mom, dad and some of our closest friends to be there waiting at Leon's Full Service to celebrate with us. Later I was told Carson had met with my parents the week before and even called to talk with both of my brothers. Still not sure how he pulled that one off but It was perfect.
