Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport

For our friends who are flying in, we recommend flying into Birmingham International Airport. This Airport is an hour away from Camp McDowell. The next closest airport is the Huntsville International Airport. That one is about two hours away from Camp McDowell.

Parsley Commons

There is on campus lodging available. The lodges have a common space for all to use with a fireplace, couches, and kitchenette (fridge, stove/oven, coffee maker, coffee). Each room has two double beds and a private bathroom. Linens and towels are provided. There is wifi available. Your room will have bars of soap but no other toiletry items or hair dryers are provided. We recommend staying on campus if you would like to stay close to the wedding venue. You can share your room with as many people as you’d like. Please indicate other guests upon booking.

Travel Note

Dining at McDowell

If you decide to stay at the camp, we highly recommend eating at the dining halls. The dining hall is walking distance from the lodges. There will be weekend meals available as an add-on with your room booking. You will be prompted with the options to purchase, Saturday Dinner, Sunday Breakfast, Sunday Lunch, and Monday Breakfast. Dinner will be served at the reception Sunday evening. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know upon booking! With advanced notice, our kitchen staff can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and/or gluten free (*not celiac-safe) alternatives. All of Camp McDowell’s kitchens are nut-free.
