Valle de Guadalupe, known for its beautiful scenery and delicious wine, is located about an hour and a half south of San Diego in Baja California, Mexico.
Guests will want to fly into either San Diego or Tijuana airports. There will be transportation options available for a discounted rate to/from both airports to Valle. Alternatively, you can drive across the border yourself. Please see the "Travel" page for more information. We will be providing shuttles from hotels to all events.
YES! We strongly encourage you to stay at the hotels listed in the "Travel" section of our website.
Anytime before September 1st!!
YES. You will need a passport to fly and/or drive into and out of Mexico. Make sure yours is up to date! If you have global entry and would like to utilize the global entry/SENTRI fast lane, everyone in the vehicle must have a physical global entry card with them upon entry to the US.
Formal attire requested (e.g., mid-to-floor-length gowns and suits with ties). Note: the wedding will be entirely outdoors.
Valle de Guadalupe is a desert. Similar to San Diego, you can expect the daytime to be pleasant, warm, and sunny - ~75-80 degrees. After sunset, expect it to cool down significantly (~50s-60s). We will have heaters (and tequila) at the venue, but please dress accordingly as the wedding is entirely outdoors.
Valle is a very popular wine region that is frequently visited by travelers. Crossing the border is generally simple and straightforward (Asher and Anna have crossed many times in the good ol' Corolla!). Please be sure to bring a valid passport and plan for extra time when crossing back into San Diego. Transportation options will be available to and from nearby airports, as well as provided for all wedding events. The transportation company we are partnering with will have a "fast pass." This typically cuts the wait time by ~70%. If you have further questions/concerns, we are happy to put you in contact with the transportation team to answer all of your questions.
We will have shuttle options available for a discounted rate from nearby airports on both Thursday and Friday. If you decide to come earlier or later, you can book transportation at the link on our Travel page.
If you would like to utilize airport shuttles, or book your own private transportation, please fill out this form to get more details: https://www.vinosobreruedas.com.mx/mbd/anna-asher-26/
If driving, we recommend entering and exiting via either the San Ysidro entry or Tecate entry (Note: San Ysidro is open 24 hours, Tecate has limited hours and no fast pass/global entry lane). There is typically little to no line upon entry. The CBP BWT app has live wait times for exiting. If driving your personal vehicle, bring ~$20 cash for toll roads, and be sure you have car insurance that is valid in Mexico (you can buy affordable daily insurance at BajaBound.com). Don't forget to pull up directions prior to crossing if you don't have international data.
