What we agree on... We both agree that we met at Jackson State Community College in the Fall of 2009. Rodney was a regular student, and Ashante' was a high school senior enrolled in dual credit. The Story as told by Ashante': I borrowed a pencil from Rodney most days of our Tuesday/Thursday class. It got to the point where Rodney would have my pencil waiting as I passed him. I could not remember his name or the name of any of the guys in the class and nicknamed him "Friend." After the completion of the class, I saw Rodney in the mall, while I was working at F.Y.E. On my break, I noticed him multiple times in my vicinity. I think he wanted me to notice him. I saw him again while waiting in line for my pretzel. He approached me and asked me out to dinner. I picked; he paid. The rest is history! The Story as told by Rodney: Ashante' flirted with me in our JSCC class. She found a reason to speak to me everyday and even pretended not to know my name. We both texted each other and kept in touch after the class. I did run into her in the mall that day. I was not following her. The mall isn't that big, and we kept running into each other. I did ask her out to dinner while she was waiting in the pretzel line. She picked; I paid. The rest is history!
Rodney convinced Ashante' they were going out for her birthday. He booked a room at the Omni Hotel and took Ashante' to a very nice dinner. Rodney was visibly rushed and urged Ashante' to be on time unlike her usually late self. Rodney drove Ashante' to Fort Worth where, before boarding a helicopter, he got on bended knee. Ashante' said, "YYYYYYYEEEEESSSSS!" Then, they went on a helicopter ride over the DFW Area.
