We recommend booking your flights to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) as soon as possible, as the best pricing is typically available further in advance. Direct flights are available from Chicago, Washington, DC, and New York City. If you choose a non-direct flight, common layover cities include London, Paris, Zurich, Dubai, and Doha. Pick the option that best fits your budget and travel preferences! Ensure that you arrive on or before November 25, 2025, so you have time to acclimate before the festivities begin on the morning of November 26, 2025. If you need help with flight planning, feel free to reach out! We’ve arranged transportation for all guests between the airport, wedding venues, and hotels. Please make sure to share your flight details with us so we can coordinate accordingly.
We’ll have drivers arranged to pick you up from the airport and drop you off at your hotel, so you can arrive feeling safe and stress-free. Just be sure to share your flight details and arrival hotel with us as soon as you have them so we can coordinate everything smoothly.
For the night of November 25 (and any earlier nights), guests will need to book their own accommodations. You’ll find our recommended options listed under the ARRIVAL HOTEL section of this website. You’re welcome to stay wherever you feel most comfortable near Aerocity or Gurugram—just be sure to share your hotel details with us so we can coordinate transportation to Tijara Fort. We’ve arranged and covered accommodations for all guests for the nights of November 26, 27, and 28: November 26 – Everyone will stay at Tijara Fort Palace, where the wedding ceremony and main celebrations will take place. Room assignments will be shared closer to the event. November 27 & 28 – After the wedding, we’ll return to Gurgaon, where we’ve arranged a block of rooms at Grand Hyatt Gurgaon and DLF City Club 5 to keep things simple and seamless. We’ll assign rooms to help streamline transportation and planning. Staying with the group is optional—if you prefer to book your own hotel (to use points, stick with a favorite brand, or stay closer to the Roseate for the reception on the 28th), you’re absolutely welcome to. Just let us know where you’ll be staying so we can keep everyone coordinated. Please note: You’ll need to book your own accommodations for any nights after November 28 (starting the night of the 29th).
If you so choose, you can book an excusion prior to or after the wedding celebrations! Please contact the travel agency directly at: info.travaganza@gmail.com Arun and Megan will not be attending excursions - this is to add to your vacation! We recommend a trip to the Taj Mahal or a Tiger Safari if you have the time before or after the celebrations!
Most U.S. phone plans won’t work reliably in India, even with international roaming turned on—calls may drop, texts might not go through, and data can be spotty or extremely expensive. To stay connected, we recommend purchasing an Indian SIM card with a prepaid data plan. You can easily buy one at the airport when you arrive (look for Airtel or Jio kiosks near baggage claim). You'll need to show your passport and may need to wait a short time for activation. If your phone is unlocked, inserting the Indian SIM card is easy and gives you affordable, reliable access to maps, WhatsApp, and more. We’ll be using WhatsApp to communicate with guests throughout the trip, so staying connected will make things smoother for everyone.
To make communication seamless while in India, we encourage all guests to download WhatsApp if you don’t already have it. It’s a free app perfect for international messaging and works over Wi-Fi or mobile data. We’ll use it to share updates, answer questions, and help you connect with fellow guests for plans like rooming, sightseeing, and coordinating flights. Message one of us with your phone number after you have the app and we'll add you to the group closer to September 2025!
Clothing: November in India is usually warm during the day and cooler at night. Pack lightweight, breathable clothes for the day and a light jacket or sweater for the evenings. Comfortable Shoes: You’ll likely be walking on uneven surfaces, so pack comfortable shoes. Sandals or breathable shoes are great for the day, but you might want closed shoes for the evening. Medications: If you take prescription medications, bring enough for your entire stay, along with a copy of your prescription. It’s also advisable to carry basic medications like pain relievers, stomach upset relief (like Imodium or Pepto-Bismol), and antihistamines. Adapters: India uses plug type C, D, and M. Be sure to bring the correct power adapters and voltage converters for your electronics.
Attending a Punjabi Sikh wedding is the perfect chance to embrace vibrant Indian traditions! Guests are encouraged to wear traditional Indian attire—women can opt for a saree, lehenga, or anarkali, and men might choose a kurta pajama or sherwani. These colorful outfits are not only beautiful but also highly appropriate and appreciated. If you prefer Western attire, choose modest and festive options like long dresses or suits. Please avoid white, black, and rani pink :) Don’t worry—wearing Indian attire is not offensive; it’s a wonderful way to honor the culture and fully immerse yourself in the celebration! Here are some affordable online stores for buying outfit for the celebrations: Indya, CBazaar, Mirraw. There are many many more stores to chose from, too!
When visiting India in late November, modesty is appreciated. While metropolitan areas like Delhi, Mumbai, and Gurugram are more cosmopolitan, modest clothing is generally preferred in most parts of India. For both men and women, covering shoulders, chest, and knees is a good rule of thumb, especially when visiting temples, mosques, or rural areas. Layering is also key for cooler mornings and evenings, especially in Rajasthan. Comfortable walking shoes are a must for exploring.

It is best for travelers to avoid drinking tap water in India. Stick to bottled water and make sure the seal is intact before opening it. Be mindful while brushing your teeth not to swallow the water if you use tap. Pack for stomach upset: Even the most cautious travelers may experience stomach upset. Bring medications like anti-diarrheal pills, probiotics, or digestive aids just in case.
Exploring new cuisines is one of the joys of traveling, and Indian food is incredible! However, to ensure everyone stays healthy and can fully enjoy the wedding celebrations, we recommend sticking to meals provided at hotels, restaurants, or trusted venues. Street food, while tempting, can sometimes be risky for those not accustomed to local conditions. If you have any questions or want recommendations for safe dining options, feel free to ask us! And just to be safe, pack for stomach upset: bring medications like anti-diarrheal pills, probiotics, or digestive aids just in case.
