Things To Do
Blue Deer (on King Street)
We LOVE ice cream (maybe a little too much...) so we love to stop by Blue Deer often to get a quick ice cream fix (you can also get coffee, sweet treats, or Logan's favorite...a quick shot of espresso) !!
Bass Lake Trail
When Aru & Logan went up to Boone for the first time, they walked around Bass Lake 10,000 times because...how could you not! It is so beautiful! Later on, they did their engagement pictures in this very spot! Bass Lake Trail is a drive below Moses Cone Park! You can walk from Moses Cone all the way down to Bass Lake (however, we don't recommend it...trust us...we tried it...).
Caldwell Community College
This is the BEST spot to watch the sunset in Boone! There is none other than Caldwell Community College. You have the option of watching the sunset from your car or outdoors on the big, grassy area (Aru and Logan are a big fan of both options)!
Moses H. Cone Memorial Park
Moses Cone is a magnificent mansion which also doubles as a great viewing area to see the Boone mountain range & take pictures of it (which is Aru's favorite thing to do)!
Mast General Store (on King Street)
Mass General store is a great place to look around, buy fun items, and sleep on camping chairs (as Logan clearly loves to do)!
Bald Guy Brew Blowing Rock
Bald Guy Coffee is Aru's favorite place to go for a coffee fix...which says a lot because Aru does not like coffee. Logan, who is a avid coffee lover, also approves of Bald Guy coffee!
The Greenway
The Greenway is a great place to go on a serene walk with friends and family! Aru and Logan have walked around here many times and have even had a picnic here!
Beacon Heights Overlook Trail
This is Aru's favorite place to go see the sunrise (if you don't believe me, go check out her Instagram...)! It is a short hike (5 minutes) up to the top of a breathtaking view! Even if you can't go in the morning, Aru definitely recommends you make the time to visit sometime in the day :)
Elk Knob State Park
Logan, Aru, and the lovely Samantha (one of Aru's bridesmaids) all went on a hike to Elk Knob! Not going to lie, it was tedious and long but, the view was very worth it! :)
Thunder Hill Overlook
Thunder Hill is a outlook spot on the parkway! It is a great place to stop for a quick view and a few pictures! There is also a hidden trail on the opposite side of the parking lot/road (call/text Aru at 980-245-1098 if you want to try to find it!)
Downtown Boone/King Street
Even from the beginning, majority of the happy couple's dates include walking...a lot. Downtown Boone is the perfect place to walk, window shop, and enjoy the wonderous mountain views!
Come Back Shack
COME BACK SHACK HAS THE BEST BURGERS...that's all. But in all seriousness, go eat your heart out over there (Logan and Aru would want you to)!
Flat Top Lookout Tower
This hike is super long but it is worth! There is a tower at the end of the hike (yes, you can climb it)! There is also a couple of other outlook spots along the way! Aru has done this hike a bit during her time at college!
