When should we arrive to the Netherlands? / Cuándo llegamos a Países Bajos?

Answer

The honest answer is whenever is most convenient for you. Some people are arriving 1 or 2 weeks before the wedding to make a "Eurotrip", some people are starting their trip at the wedding. If we would have to choose, we would prefer if you start your trip at our wedding, so the energy is still there and to reduce any chances of missing out due to a cancellation of a train or flight. Anyway, both work, as long as we have you at the wedding :). La verdad es que todo depende de lo que ustedes quieran y se les acomode. Comenzamos temprano el sábado en la boda, por lo que les recomendaríamos que lleguen desde el jueves o viernes. Si tuviéramos que elegir, preferimos que comiencen su viaje en Países Bajo, para que tengan buena energía en la boda. Muchos nos han comentado que terminarán su viaje en Países Bajos, por temas de trabajo o escuela a los que tienen niños, otros comenzarán su viaje en Países Bajos, por lo que depende de cada quien. Hay varios grupos que se están haciendo, que quieren hacer un viaje juntos, si les interesa, mándeme un WhatsApp para ponerlos de acuerdo :).

Is there going to be an "Ice-breaking party"? / Va a haber rompehielos?

Yes!!! We would love to have you all starting Friday, August 7 2026. We're working on making a reservation, so details are yet to come, but try to make it on Friday :). SIII!!! Tenemos un evento reservado y nos encantaría contar con la mayoría desde el viernes 7 de agosto. Estamos por finalizar detalles con un lugar que nos gusta mucho, más todavía no es nada seguro. Lo que es seguro, es que habrá evento desde el viernes!!!

Where do you recommend us to fly to? / A dónde nos recomiendan volar?

The best routes that we have experienced. If you're flying from Monterrey, try to check for a direct flight via Mexico City or via Houston. KLM and Aeromexico fly through Mexico City and then directly to Amsterdam. United Airlines flies through Houston, which is also a very good option. Some people have flown through Cancun, but the challenge is to get to Cancun, then from Cancun to fly to Amsterdam. Now, depending on your plan, if you would like to make a Eurotrip around the Netherlands, the big airports around Amsterdam via Mexico city are: London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Brussels. There are direct flights from Monterrey to Madrid, which is what many people would prefer on doing, just remember that then it's still a 3 hours flight from Madrid to Amsterdam. Esta es la pregunta que más hemos recibido, ¿a dónde viajamos? La respuesta es que hay opciones de todo. Nosotros les recomendamos elegir 3 países, a lo mejor 4 países como máximo, para que disfruten y no anden de un lado para otro. Si quieren priorizar por ejemplo el lado oeste de Europa, comenzar en Madrid o en París son buenas opciones. Si quieren empezar en Países Bajos, la idea es volar a Ámsterdam. La verdad es que hay muchas opciones, lo que si les recomendamos 100% es no intentar ir a todos lados, escoger una zona y disfrutar lo que cada país tiene que ofrecer. Países Bajos, por ejemplo, incluso siendo un país pequeño, tiene muchos lugares qué explorar.

What should we explore in the Netherlands? / Qué exploramos en Países Bajos?

The Netherlands has vast areas to explore. We would recommend you exploring Amsterdam, if you've never been there. The canals, the food, the museums, are a must. Close to Amsterdam, there are several options. For example Haarlem, which is 10-15 minutes away from Amsterdam, is a great option. The Hague, the host of the International Court of justice is also very close by, and it has loads of things to offer, including food, museums, the beach, etc. Utrecht, one of the biggest cities of the Netherlands is also 20-30 minutes away from Amsterdam, and it's worth exploring. Around Tilburg, there are different options. There are several cities close by, one called Breda and Eindhoven. If you want to explore other countries, Antwerp in Belgium is very close, as well as Düsseldorf. There's also a regional airport in Eindhoven, around 30-40 minutes away from Tilburg, where you could check for local, affordable, regional flights. We're going to keep adding recommendations to visit. Hay muchas cosas que ver en Países Bajos. La opción más común es Ámsterdam. Pasear por sus canales, comer waffles y papas a la francesa, entre otras cosas, son típicas de Países Bajos. Además de Ámsterdam, existen varias ciudades cerquita. Por ejemplo, "La Haya", que está a 15 minutos de Ámsterdam en tren. Tiene playa, museos y una infraestructura que vale la pena visitar. Zaandam, es una recreación de lo que anteriormente era Países Bajos. Está a 10 minutos de la central de trenes y vale mucho la pena visitarlo, al menos una vez. Por otra parte están Utrecht y Rotterdam, dos de las ciudades más grandes de Países Bajos, cada una con su cultura y su vida propia. Les recomendamos tomarlas en cuenta en caso de que quieran explorar más ciudades en Países Bajos. Al sur de Tilburg se encuentra Antwerp, una ciudad única de Bélica, la cual les recomendamos mucho tomar en cuenta, ya que de ahí podrían partir a otro país.
