We’re Getting Married!

Matt and Liz met when they were both still in College. Liz had just moved to Denver, CO while Matt was living in Eastern North Carolina to go to school. In 2013, she flew to Charlotte to go to an Anime Convention with her little brother, who saw Matt and recognized the costume he was wearing. They had a quick chat and parted ways. Liz flew back to Denver for school that Fall, and a year later she flew to Raleigh to go to yet another Anime Convention in the Summer of 2014. They ran into each other again! They hung out all weekend this time, and became great friends. On her drive back to ENC, Liz called Matt and found out they were both going back to the same place. For four years, they had lived 30 minutes away from each other and hadn’t even found out until Liz was already living in Denver. It had to be Fate! Liz and Matt were friends for a year or so before he went out to visit her in Colorado where they had a fun afternoon picnic with friends before he went back to NC. They started dating shortly after in the Spring of 2015.

Matt proposed to Liz on her birthday with the perfect ring for her. They were enjoying a nice sunset picnic in their backyard overlooking the Appalachian Mountains.

Most nights, they can be found playing video games together or watching hockey. They always have local craft beer on hand and they still love to go to conventions like they did when they first met. Liz is a full time illustrator now and Matt’s an Accounting Team Lead, so they find common ground in their passions. Matt and Liz live happily in the hills of Erwin, Tennessee, with their two cat babies and an extensive indoor garden. They love to travel and are always planning the next big adventure!
