The Wedding Website of Arthur Gigon and Maria Ioja

Hotel

Hotel Jelna

DC7
Jelna, BN 427017, Romania

Our wedding will take place here. The hotel is located in Jelna, just a few minutes’ drive from the main town of Bistrița. The hotel has listed only a few of its rooms on Booking.com. If it appears fully booked there, we recommend calling or emailing the hotel directly to make a reservation. There is also the option to book a room on their website, but it does not seem to have an English version. If you would like a room please let us know and we will be happy to reserve one for you. *The hotel’s policy asks for payment at the time of booking and doesn’t officially guarantee a refund if the room is canceled. That said, they are usually flexible, so if you ever need to cancel and request a refund, just let us know; we’ll be happy to talk to the hotel on your behalf and sort it out.

Travel Note

Airbnb

Airbnb is a great option in Bistrița. You will be able to find affordable flats around the city centre, a short drive away from our wedding venue. Please feel free to contact us for any recommendations or assistance, we’re happy to help!

Flight

Avram Iancu Cluj Airport

Don’t try to fly to Bistrița unless you’re feeling fancy and want to rent a helicopter. It’s a small city with no airport. The best option is to fly into Cluj-Napoca, about a 2-hour drive away. It’s also where Maria went to university and the second-largest city in Romania, with a really lively, atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

Flight

Transylvania Airport Târgu Mureș

There’s also an airport in Târgu Mureș, which is about a 2-hour drive away as well. It’s a smaller airport in a quieter city compared to Cluj-Napoca, but you might still find some convenient flight options there.

Travel Note

Getting around

We recommend renting a car to travel within the country. However, if you prefer a different way of transportation. there are busses you can take from the airport to Bistrița and back.
