It all began in 2016, during the golden age of the internet—when online dating, gaming, and chatting with strangers across the globe (or in this case, across the country) was all the rage. Somewhere in the vast digital ether, Michael appeared: helpful, talkative, and, depending on who you ask (Lauren), a little annoying. Lauren wasn’t impressed at first—but that didn’t stop the daily conversations from growing into something more. What started as playful banter turned into genuine connection. Over the years, between travel stops and meetups, their friendship evolved into a deep love. In 2023, Lauren “kidnapped” Michael for a vacation on the Big Island—an adventure that turned out to be a turning point. After that trip, he landed a new job at Boeing in Washington, and she was accepted into a Master’s program at the University of Washington. They were finally both building their lives towards a future they dreamed of, side by side. Then came 2024… and the cruise. Michael, on his very first voyage at sea, had one goal (besides not getting seasick): to finally pop the question. After months of Lauren's "hints"—some subtle, others very obvious—he nervously proposed, ring box upside down and all. Classic Michael. Now, Lauren and Michael are getting married— Two best friends who found love through pixels, persistence, and a little bit of chaos.
