If someone had told me years ago that a single trip would change my life forever, I’m not sure I would’ve believed them. But that’s exactly what happened. What started as a short visit to San Diego turned into the beginning of our story — one I never saw coming but now couldn’t imagine my life without my Lucas. At the time, I was living in New York, and he was in California. From the very beginning, we knew we were building something unique — not only across cities, but across cultures. I’m from Mexico, and he’s from Uruguay, raised in Virginia — but somehow, everything just made sense with him. Our backgrounds are different, but our values, laughter, and love speak the same language. We embraced a long-distance relationship with all its challenges and joys, we fell in love across time zones and flight schedules. Our relationship was built on late-night conversations, airport hellos and goodbyes, and the kind of connection that distance couldn’t shake. One of the moments that will always stay with me is when he flew across the country just to be with me at my farewell party as i prepared to move to California was a really special moment... That simple act said everything. And on April 7, 2025, we stood hand in hand and promised to keep building this life together — one filled with laughter, love, hard days, growth, and the beauty of blending two cultures, two families, and two hearts into one.
