Arlene and Jeremy met at a St. Patrick's Day party in March 2014. It was the first warm and sunny day of the year, and Arlene had spent most of the day at work, so she arrived to the party ready to enjoy the sunshine in the host's backyard. She noticed that several strangers were enthusiastically playing an exotic game, and walked up to the most handsome man in the group. She asked him to explain the novel game, and he obliged. Jeremy described the very complicated rules to "slap cup". Arlene nodded, but understood nothing. She shifted the conversation to food and travel, while Jeremy shared his love for music and, eventually, his true passion, karaoke. Since that day, Jeremy and Arlene have traveled thousands of miles together, shared many tasty meals, attended countless concerts, and sang an infinite number of songs at karaokes throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Jeremy proposed to Arlene on the beach in San Diego, California on New Year's Day 2017.
