COVID-19 Travel Note

Costa Rica is opening its borders to ALL states starting November 1st. The requirements to enter Costa Rica are as follows: you must have an active passport that is not expiring within 6 months of your departure, you must fill out their Health Pass form 48 hours before your flight (https://salud.go.cr), you must purchase travel insurance to cover your medical expenses & quarantine lodging expenses should you fall ill/contract COVID while in country. We purchased our insurance through Trawick International ($20 each for a 2 week stay). This changes frequently so do a quick google before we go! To enter back into the U.S. you must get a negative COVID test and show proof of the test results at the airport. Or, show proof that you have contracted and recovered from COVID-19 within the last 3 months.

PASSPORT

You WILL need a valid passport to travel to Costa Rica. Please make sure your passport will be valid for 6 months after your departure.

JUAN SANTAMARIA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (SJO)

***NOTE: The correct airport is SJO, Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica. Be careful NOT to book a flight to SJC, or you'll end up in San Jose, California!*** San Jose Airport is the closest international airport to Manuel Antonio. Costa Rica's other airport, Liberia (LIR), is much further and NOT recommended! The drive from the San Jose airport to Manuel Antonio is approx. 2.5 hours. We are looking into group shuttle options and will update here with more information. Local flights are offered between San Jose and Quepos (the town bordering Manuel Antonio) as well if you'd prefer that over a drive. There are two airlines offering these short flights: Sansa Airlines and NatureAir. Once your flight & hotel are confirmed, please submit the details to the google doc below using the "view" link so we can help coordinate transportation to/from the airport if needed, as well as from your hotel to the wedding venue.
