No, we do not. Currently quarantining is not required upon arrival to Costa Rica, nor do you need to present a negative covid test. This always could change, and we will update here if it does.
PERFECT! March is dry season in Costa Rica, so you can expect lots and lots of sunshine. The average high will be around 85 degrees, with nighttime temps dipping into the low 70's. *If you plan on traveling to different regions of Costa Rica, do a quick Google search as the climate changes depending on location.
We recommend checking with your individual provider as this will vary. Your cell phone will likely work BUT you will be charged for international data roaming which is pricey. You can add an international plan to your phone before you go if you need to have cell service, or buy a local SIM card at the airport when you arrive for relatively cheap. Keep in mind, you can always connect to WiFi for free (if offered at your hotel) to send texts between iPhones, emails, or to post those beach pics on Insta! We recommend downloading WhatsApp (text messaging/wifi calling app) if you need to communicate with anyone who does not have an iPhone.
The U.S. dollar is widely used in Manuel Antonio, as are credit cards, given it is a very popular tourist destination.
The short answer: Yes, you can. The long answer: We don't necessarily recommend it. The water in Costa Rica may contain bacteria that could be harsh on your stomach and we'd hate to have that put a damper on your vacation. If possible, stick to bottled water to be on the safe side. Also, be cautious of any food that may have been washed in tap water (fruits/veggies) or ice made from tap water in your frozen drinks. Again, the authorities have deemed the water safe so no need to panic! Just some friendly advice.
Costa Rica is equivalent to Central Standard Time (CST) in North America. Since Costa Rica does not observe daylight savings time, the time change varies from 1-2 hours throughout the year. Keep this in mind for flights home!
Nope! You can plug any normal electric-powered device (hair dryers, chargers, etc.) into a wall outlet in Costa Rica.
Yes and no.. it is not customary for locals to tip, but as tourism continues to rise, so does the expectation for tips (thank you, fellow Americans.) We recommend tipping if you receive excellent service, as you would here at home. For example: tour guides, private drivers, maids, restaurant servers, etc. Be sure to double check your bill as service fees may already be deducted.
While we adore your little ones, our wedding will be adults only. If you are bringing children with you on the trip to Costa Rica, our villa concierge can help arrange babysitting services during the wedding.
