Best Man
Jerell and I have known one another for almost 20 years and have been best friends ever since. We met at Howard University outside of historic Founders Library and connected over the importance of political power. We have been in one another's corner through all the ups and down, the highs and the lows. Through it all out God is still on the throne!
Matron of Honor
After meeting in the 7th grade (technically earlier than that, but that’s another story), Arielle and I are more than friends, she’s my sister! Whether we’re traveling to Mexico, planning fall festivities, or supporting each other through the ups and downs of life, Arielle and I have a closeness and bond that’s hard to put into words. I can’t wait to continue this sisterhood with Arielle as she enters the world of marriage!
Groomsman
I am Jerell’s younger brother/favorite brother. But also the most handsome brother. We’ve been together for almost all of our lives just up until adulthood. I thoroughly value being Jerell’s little brother. He leads the way with his determination and intelligence and I am always inspired. Whenever I feel that I am lost and need advice.. he will certainly reveal a path for me that gives me no other choice but to get it done. It’s comforting knowing he has found love that will aid him on his own path. We are more than excited to have a new addition to the family! Wishing J Money Bagz and my future Sister more life, happiness, and stability.
Bridesmaid
I’m the brides baby sister! I’m so excited that the lady who let me play Sims on her computer and bought me countless chocolate chip muffies growing up is marrying a fellow Leo! I love you Relish and welcome to the fam Jerell!
Groomsman
Hi, I’m Duncan, the groom’s friend and consigliere-basically his trusted advisor, with lots of unsolicited life advice. I’ve known Jerell since he strutted back into Trenton fresh out of Howard, rocking a “leisure suit” that had all of us questioning both the era and his fashion choices. From the moment he jumped into the political scene, we hit it off, forming a bond that has been nothing short of legendary. Over the years, he has grown into a walking, talking Black History encyclopedia-my personal Google for obscure facts and deep-cut knowledge. And now, the man has finally found his wife, proof that miracles do happen!

Arielle and I met as bright-eyed freshmen at Howard, navigating college life—and our empty wallets—together. Back then, for us, luxury was splitting a burger and a single slice of chocolate cake at District Chop (IYKYK), stretching every dollar we had but never skimping on the laughs. At the time, I couldn’t envision what the future would look like, but I knew we’d always be in each other’s lives. Over the years, we made it—crossing the country to visit each other, turning girls' trips into a tradition, and proving that some friendships only get better with time. Years later, we found ourselves back at District Chop, this time ordering our own steaks, a bottle of wine… and, of course, still sharing a slice of chocolate cake—because some traditions are too sweet to change.
Groomsman
I first met Jerell during a summer internship at the John S. Watson Institute for Public Policy in Trenton, New Jersey. From day one, we connected over our shared passion for politics and our experiences at HBCU — him at Howard, me at Morehouse. Over the years, our friendship has only grown stronger, built on great conversations, shared ambitions, and plenty of laughs along the way. It’s an honor to stand by Jerell as he takes this next big step in life.
Bridesmaid
I’ve known Arielle since before she could walk or eat solid food—truth be told, I likely met her before she was born. I’ve been the favorite sister-cousin from the start! For the first eight years of my life, we were inseparable, always in matching outfits and doing everything together. Not much has changed over the years—she’s still the little sister I always wished for! So excited to celebrate her happily ever after!

Arielle (Rel) and I were destined to be friends even before we were born. Our dads attended Saint Louis University High School together. This history was unbeknownst to us, yet we organically pulled together like magnets in grade school at Kennard CJA Classical Academy. Despite her immense popularity, she exhibited kindness, grace and poise towards me. I have always been honored to be her friend, and we genuinely just immediately clicked. We went on to further our bond at Camp Lakewood, where we tackled the trials and tests of adolescence from hormones and puberty through team and trust building. We learned survival skills from foraging to firebuilding. She proved to be my lifeline one day and saved me from drowning. We have saved one another multiple times since then. We went on to attend high school together at Villa Duchesne. Both lovers of the arts, we trained under Mrs. Reddington (Big Red) to shine bright in Show Choir singing and dancing our hearts out. Our friendship has continued over phone calls, meals cooked together, girls trips and tears cried. I am so happy to be able to stand next to her on this unforgettable day.
