FAQs

Here are a couple of the FAQ's. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out!
Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

We’d love it if you all showed up around or just after 2:45 pm, our ceremony will begin around 3 pm

Question

Where do I park? Ceremony parking?

Answer

If you're staying at an AirBnB or the like you will have access to parking at the Royal Kona Resort for the day of our wedding. Parking is free for our guests the day of our ceremony. Grab the parking ticket from the Royal Kona Resort parking lot and after the ceremony or after the luau our marvelous wedding planner will make sure it gets comp-ed for you. No stress.

Question

Can I take pictures?

Answer

TLDR: Please don't during our ceremony. We hired some amazing professionals for this event, so we ask that you please, please refrain from taking photos during our ceremony and just enjoy. We'll have plenty of time to snap some pictures together after.

Question

What time does everything start?

Answer

Our ceremony should start at 3 pm. Plan to get there a little earlier so you can find our venue (Nohea Point), sign our guestbook and find a seat.

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

If you plan at staying at the resort, they have everything you need. Fly Into the Kona airport and relax. If you want to adventure out, downtown Kona is within walking distance. Given a 5-10 minute walk you can find coffee, bars, shops. If you’re planning on traveling around the island (visiting the National Park etc). Then a car might be useful.

Question

Should we buy luau tickets?

Answer

Nope - Since that's our reception we're buying the luau tickets. Just come and enjoy!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We suggest cocktail attire or Hawaiian attire! Think light colors. All I ask is please no jeans or ripped clothing. We love you, come as you are.

Question

Do you have hotel recommendations?

Answer

Check out the Travel page of our website for the resort recommendation.

Question

What's the deal with the reception?

Answer

It's a luau put on by the resort. It isn't a private event, but it's going to serve as our reception. We're paying your way, so no worries there. Just come as you are, enjoy the hawaiian food, open bar and the show. There will be hula, fire dancers and everything in between. If you've never attended a luau before, this will be something to remember!
