Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive-Sleeping Bear Dunes
The Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is a seven-mile route featuring stunning panoramas of the dunes, Lake Michigan and Glen Lake. Hike along the Cottonwood Trail and stop at the scenic overlooks for a picnic. The entrance to the drive is on M-109 between Glen Haven and Empire in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

If you’re here for a short summer weekend, head to Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive and hop out at the Lake Michigan Overlook. It’s stunning, it’s shocking and it’s an unmatched iconic view. But if you do have the luxury of time, - take a tour, - hike through the Maple/Beech forest to some beautiful overlooks - swim at one of the many beaches, - or get a killer workout in at the infamous Dune Climb. Whatever you chose, be sure to stop in at the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire for park updates and information.

The microbreweries, brewpubs, and taprooms are open year-round and have plenty of options for sampling their craft beverages. In the Summer you can even explore the breweries on a Kayak, Bike and Brew Tour or jump on the TC Cycle Pub!
