We met for a drink after a mutual friend had insisted we would like each other. Melissa had just finished the longest work day of her life. I was well rested and frankly, already enamored. Melissa ordered tea. I was nervous and ordered the barrel of wine. Melissa isn't a small talk kind of person and boy did I take the bait. What was supposed to be one drink (I know she picked a restaurant across the street from her house so she could be close to home if she didn't like me) turned into three and a half hours. I didn't want to let her go home, but we were in a public place, so I had to... Regardless, we both knew there was something special happening and were inseparable from then on.
We took what I thought was just a quick weekend trip to New York. I had been hoping it might happen on the trip, but after he didn't want to use the hotel room safe and I couldn't feel anything in his coat pockets (I promise I really am mentally stable), I thought there wasn't a chance. There I am thinking he just came to New York to gorge on dumplings and lox, when really he had planned an elaborate day of my favorite things that ended with him on one knee. And here we are. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you
