Normally, days are hot (80-90) and evenings are cool (65-75). Heatwaves are not uncommon and temperatures can reach well in to the 90's. Rain is not common, but, you never know...
Fonte de Medici is in a beautiful location on top of a hill surrounded by vineyards. There is a pool, restaurant, and very petite gym on site. Nothing else is within walking distance. There are many places that are easily accessible by car and well worth a visit: The main Chianti towns: Greve, Panzano, Radda, Gaiole, Castellina - 15-30 minutes Florence - 30 minutes Siena - 45 minutes Volterra - 1 hour Pisa 1.5 hours Pienza - 1.5 hrs Montepulciano 1.5 hrs Montalcino 1.5 hrs
Aside from the welcome dinner, wedding, and brunch, there is nothing "official" planned. We want you all to be able to enjoy as you see fit. That being said, we will eating lunch and dinner at our favorite local restaurants, and are happy to have you join us. Alternatively, we can provide some suggestions. Fonte de Medici is home to a world famous winery and a tour of the vineyards, cellar, and tasting room can be arranged. There are also countless other wineries in the area, many of which offers tours/visitors. Bike rental is available, and we will most likely go for a ride each morning. The more the merrier. Talk to Ari if you are interested in renting a bike.
