We understand that a destination reception is a time and money commitment, so we want to give you as much information as possible before you decide to come.

Travel Note

TRAVEL FROM THE STATES

The wedding will take place at MINILOC ISLAND, which is in the larger region of EL NIDO, PHILIPPINES. There are no direct flights from the US to EL NIDO, so you will have to make at least one stop in MANILA, PHILIPPINES or CEBU, PHILIPPINES (where the international airports are located). When searching flights, just input EL NIDO (Airport Code: ENI) as your destination, and the layovers and connecting flights should auto-populate. OUR SUGGESTED ROUTE: 1. BIG FLIGHT(S): Fly internationally into MANILA, PHILIPPINES (Airport Code: MNL) or CEBU, PHILIPPINES (Airport Code: CEB). Depending on what flights you choose, you may have other layovers between the US and MNL. 2. SMALL FLIGHT: From MANILA or CEBU, you will take a small prop plane to EL NIDO (ENI). We do not recommend doing an extended layover in MANILA or CEBU. You should get to EL NIDO as quickly as possible and spend more time there if desired. 3. BOAT RIDE: From EL NIDO, you will take a 45-minute boat ride to MINILOC ISLAND, where the resort is. The resort will take care of the boat transfers as it is already included in your room price. We will not be going to MINILOC ISLAND until JUNE 1, 2023 (check-in is at 3 p.m.). You’ll want to coordinate your arrivals into EL NIDO accordingly. You’re not alone! Once guests have booked their flights, our wedding coordinators will keep track of everyone’s travel details. They will be contacting you to assist with your travel plans, including arrival, departure, and boat transfers. Look out for an email from Amanda Tirol and her team. We are also here to answer any and all of your questions, so don’t hesitate to text or email us. We will also post our flight details and itinerary later so you can model your travel plans.

TIMELINE OPTIONS

FOR THE HUSTLERS: If you don't mind long voyages and prefer to power through the travel (or if you don't have much PTO to spare), we recommend planning to arrive in EL NIDOearly on June 1, 2023, then taking a boat directly to MINILOC ISLAND on the same day. You will have plenty of down time to rest and recover at the resort! There are massages available too. FOR THE CRUISERS: If you can't stand long travel periods and prefer to take your time (or if you want to spend more time in the Philippines outside the wedding weekend), we recommend spending a few days in EL NIDO prior to going to MINILOC ISLAND on June 1, 2023. EL NIDO is a travel haven with so many amazing sights, great restaurants and bars, snorkeling and diving, and your choice between a bougie resort or cheap hostel. There are also AirBnb options. If you want to learn a little more about it, there are tons of YouTube videos and blog posts about EL NIDO made by other travelers. If you have the time and resources, we highly suggest this option to get used to the time difference, see more of the area, and have more fun! This is our plan, so let us know if you’re interested and we can give you more details.

Hotel

THE RESORT: MINILOC ISLAND

Miniloc Island is one resort on its own island. Thus, the only option is to book a stay at this resort. You'll want to book three nights, with check-in on June 1, 2023 and check-out on June 4, 2023. The room prices come with all-inclusive food (not drinks) and non-motorized resort activities. You will find a spreadsheet of the room rates here: https://tinyurl.com/IslandRoomRates RSVP: You must RSVP by September 30, 2022 (we extended the deadline). You must RSVP so we can have a final headcount to send to the hotel. After we submit the final guest list, the resort will email booking forms to guests in October. If you don't RSVP, we can't include you in the guest list. BOOKING: In October, a booking form with instructions will be emailed to each guest that RSVPed. We reserved a set amount of rooms at the resort for our wedding guests. Those rooms will be closed to the public until October 28, 2022. After that date, the public can book any rooms not booked by guests. After October 28, 2022, you can still book a room, however, you will be competing with the public. Let us know if you need to book after October 28, 2022 and we can work with you and the resort! PAYMENT: You will be asked to pay 50% of the room price 30 days after booking. For example, if you book your room on October 27, 2022, you will have until November 27, 2022 to make your 50% deposit. The remaining 50% is not due until April 2, 2023 for all guests. We are always here to answer your questions and help you with the booking process! For more info, visit our FAQs page, text us, or email us directly at kyridelrojohnson@gmail.com.
