One random day in August, Ari came across Allyssa’s profile on a dating app and messaged her. We quickly got to chatting and before we knew it, we were meeting up in Manhattan for Thai food. We hit it off and spent every weekend that fall taking turns trekking between Brooklyn and New Jersey going on all sorts of outdoor dates (thanks Covid). And the rest is history!

After hearing about the Icelandic tradition of exchanging books on Christmas Eve, Allyssa told Ari that they should make it their tradition. Ari thought it sounded like the perfect time to propose so she bought a book titled “Will You Marry Me?” and cut out a compartment to hold the ring. Then on Christmas Eve she gave it to Allyssa who promptly said yes!
