Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

RSVPs must be in by July 1st.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at San Sophia Overlook by 4pm. Keep in mind it takes about 10-15 minutes to reach San Sophia Station from both Mountain Village and Telluride. There will be drinks served and plenty of beautiful spots to take photos while you wait.

Question

Do we need to rent a car?

Answer

No. There are shuttle services available to bring you from the airports to town (see travel page). Once in town, you will find that everything is readily accessible and both Mountain Village and Telluride are very small and walker friendly. The free gondola links the two towns together and will provide transportation to all our wedding venues. However, Colorado is a big place with lots of beautiful areas to explore outside of Telluride / Mountain Village. If you prefer to wander and roam, a car will be helpful in providing access to all our beautiful state has to offer. There’s also free parking available at Station Village Parking.

Question

So what’s the deal with the gondola’s?

Answer

The towns of Telluride and Mountain Village are linked by a spectacular 15 minute ride on a free gondola - the first and only free public transportation system of its kind in the United States. The gondola has 4 primary stations where you can board and unload: 1. Station Telluride (Oak Street) - access to Telluride 2. Station St. Sophia (mid mountain stop) - this station unloads at our ceremony location, as well as access to Allred’s Restaurant and Bar, The Ridge Club, and many public hiking trails 3. Station Mountain Village - access to Mountain Village 4. Station Village Parking - this station unloads at our family owned grocery store: The Village Market. There’s also a free parking garage at this location. Operating hours: 7 days a week - 6:30 AM to midnight

Question

What is the elevation of the wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony is being held at San Sophia Overlook which has an elevation of 10,500 ft. Our reception is being held at 10,100 ft.

Question

Any tips for avoiding altitude sickness?

Answer

1. DRINK WATER. Lots of it! We would recommend adding an extra Naglene of water to your daily intake a few days before you arrive in Colorado. 2. Acclimate at lower elevations. If you can arrive early, plan a day or two of fun in the nearby town of Ouray, which has a lower elevation of 7,687 ft. 3. Bring portable oxygen. Many stores sell portable oxygen cans which can be great to have on hand as you explore the mountains. 4. Go easy on the drinking. We are excited to celebrate with everyone, but alcohol hits you harder at elevation. Your tolerance will not be what you think it is! 5. Eat your carbs. Carbohydrates help our body absorb oxygen better, so plan a meal or two of good Italian food before you arrive or while you’re in town! 6. Wear sunscreen. The air is thinner in Colorado, so the sun’s rays have less atmosphere to pass through before they hit your skin. Couple that with a 300+ days of sunshine we get, and you might end up burnt! 7. Bring layers. Even in the summer, the air cools down significantly in the mountains after dark. It’s not uncommon for an 80° day to drop down to the mid 50s after the sun goes down. 8. Take full advantage of our oxygen bar at the reception! All guests will have uncapped access to an oxygen bar which serves purified oxygen administered through a nasal cannula. The purified oxygen served is 95% oxygen (for reference, the natural area breathe on a daily basis contains about 21% oxygen). Purified oxygen at these levels has been shown to increase energy levels, improve mood, concentration and sports performance, reduce stress, promote better sleep, and provide relief for headaches and migraines.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please reach out to either the bride or the groom by June 1st with any special requests and we will do our best to accommodate you.

For all the days along the way
