We consider all of you family. Don’t worry about what side to sit on and don’t worry about being overly polite. We will have areas blocked off for our immediate family. From there, we want you to sit wherever you want to get the best view! If you want a better seat, get there early. We’re also not doing a seating chart for the reception. We encourage you to make new friends.
While we are having an evening wedding, this is not going to be a formal affair. Please refrain from wearing sweats or PJs, but we will be perfectly happy if you wear jeans and a nice shirt, or even a nerdy shirt of some kind with a jacket! We want you all to be comfortable and express your personalities. If you love wearing a suit, do it! If you have a cocktail dress you’ve been wanting to wear but haven’t had a chance, do it! We just want you to be there.
If your invitation indicates your child specifically or if it says, “and Family,” your kids are invited. If your invite only has you guys on it, we want you to have a night off from your offspring. If you can’t get a babysitter, just give us a heads up that your munchkins need to attend.
We will do our best to indicate on your invitation if we have counted in a guest for you. If you’re concerned about it, please just ask us. We do have limited seating in our venues, so it is possible that we have had to limit our invitation to members of your family that we really know or perhaps just you.
We’re never going to turn down gifts! We’ll have table at the reception to place any gift you bring. We’ll also have something available to place cards or any monies in if you would prefer to help fund our honeymoon.
We’re registered with Amazon, but because we have both lived on our own for some time, we are not in dire need of household items. We request primarily monetary gifts if possible.
During the ceremony, please keep an eye on where our photographer is. We’re paying him lots of money to get beautiful pictures of us and of you, not your cell phones. If you can see that you’re not in his way, feel free to take a picture. But honestly, we’d rather you just be in the moment. During the reception, same goes, though it will be a much more laid-back affair.
Let us know when you RSVP. We’ll work with anyone that has any food allergies.
We will have some wine and beer available at the reception, and will also have water and tea for those who don't want to imbibe. We encourage you to bring the makings of the drink of your choice, but remind you we do have an awesome photographer that will take pictures of your drunk self. We will also steal your keys and make sure you get where you're going safely. We want you all to have fun and be safe!
