If you're up for a bike ride, you can rent from Lake Dillon Bike Rentals. Be sure to book ahead just in case they are busy! There is a trail that goes along Lake Dillon and you can get from Dillon to Frisco! It's an easy paved trail. The ride from Dillon to Frisco takes around 30 minutes but its beautiful!
This is 10 minutes from Dillon and gives you an amazing 360 view over the lake and mountains. Just a 1.5 easy in and out trail. Below this hike is our wedding site! 12 minutes from Dillon! This super cute mountain town has lots more shops and restaurants to choose from! Can't go wrong with a beer and a Bavarian pretzel from the German place, Ein Prost! In the fall, they often times close down the streets so folks can roam free without cars driving down the main street.
15 minutes from Dillon, right outside Frisco! This hike takes you through some beautiful aspen trees and is a 2.3 mile loop. Breck is 25 minutes from Dillon! Breck has lots to do, this is a larger more touristy spot so you will find lots of things to do here! Jack and I's favorite spot to get a Espresso Martini after a cold hike is at Après Handcrafted Libations.
This hike is 30 minutes from Dillon, outside Breckenridge This is the hike Jack took me on and purposed! It's not easy but absolutely beautiful if you're up for a challenge! There are multiple lakes you can hike to! The first lake is a little over 2 miles in with an elevation gain of below 1000. Leadville is 40 minutes from Dillon. This is Catherines favorite town to get to from Denver! It is a small old mining town that has lots of local shops and restaurants. On weekends, the FREIGHT hosts lots of events check them out here: https://www.freightleadville.com/schedule
This hike is 23 minutes from Dillon, and is halfway to Leadville. Don't be fooled, even though this is right off the road its got amazing trees and beautiful valley that you walk into! This hike is a great easy loop that has minimal elevation gain. This is great to hit on your way to Leadville, and then once you get to Leadville get some grub! Minturn is 45 minutes from Dillon The most important thing you will do in Minturn is go to the Minturn saloon. Their bloody's are amazing and they've got some amazing history here - ask them about their amazing old wooden bar along the back wall!
Fun fact: if you do the Boreas Pass Loop you'll drive by our favorite dispersed camping area! Which is also where Jack surprised me with our friends waiting to celebrate our engagement the night he proposed! There are lots of Aspens that line this Pass which make this drive beautiful.
