We’re keeping things elevated but relaxed -- Earth tones, Mediterranean-inspired colors, and lightweight fabrics are all encouraged. Please avoid printed fabrics, suit jackets and ties.

Answer

Sicily has many streets and walkways that are made of historic cobblestone, stone steps, and uneven surfaces. For wedding events, we recommend choosing stylish but practical footwear that you’ll feel comfortable in. Block heels, wedges, dressy flats, loafers, and polished sandals are all great choices. If you’re planning to explore Taormina or surrounding areas, comfortable walking shoes are strongly encouraged.

October in Sicily is typically warm and beautiful, with daytime temperatures usually ranging from 70–78°F (21–26°C) and cooler evenings around 60–66°F (16–19°C). We expect sunshine, coastal breezes, and the occasional chance of light rain, so we recommend packing layers for the evenings.

Should I rent a car?

Answer

Sicily is a very drivable island, and renting a car is highly recommended if you’d like to explore beyond Giardini Naxos and Taormina. That said, parking near both the villa and the bed & breakfast is somewhat limited. We also strongly recommend researching Sicily’s ZTL (“Zona Traffico Limitato”) zones before arrival, as entering these restricted traffic areas can result in automatic fines or penalties. What currency is used in Sicily?

Answer

Italy uses the Euro (€). Credit cards are widely accepted in most restaurants, shops, and hotels, but we recommend carrying some cash for taxis, small cafés, beach clubs, tips, and smaller local businesses. ATMs are easy to find throughout Giardini Naxos and Taormina.

What is the best way to communicate once we're in Sicily?

Answer

We highly recommend downloading WhatsApp before arriving if you don’t already have it. This will be the easiest way for us to share group updates, transportation details, timing changes, and quick announcements throughout the week. WhatsApp can be used for messaging and phone calls over Wi-Fi or cellular data, which is very helpful while traveling internationally. Please make sure your notifications are turned on so you don’t miss important updates.
