We met at a mutual friends rooftop birthday party in May 2018. We did not have many interactions on this day, but this is when we caught each others eye. At the event, my close friends attended as well as his. Lavar knew some of my close friends from a camp they worked in over the Summer. He asked my best friend Yuneydi for my Instagram which she gave him, and he gave me a follow. I ranted a lot on Instagram at that time, talk about no filter. On one of my rants he commented, "Can I pick your brain"? From there we began speaking and having in depth conversations which I enjoyed and I hope he did too. We spoke more and more as the days went on over Instagram. In August 2018 he took a chance and slid his number in my DM's twice. (I didn't notice it the first time..I was too busy chatting). He felt it was a good time since I had just finished dying my hair and he "wanted to see how it looked". We Facetimed that night, and talked for a while. After that night, every morning I woke up to a "Good Morning" text and we continued great conversations. In October many events happened. He treated me out to a major moment where I got to meet my favorite TV stars "The Impractical Jokers". Not only see them on stage where we could ask them questions in a panel, but I actually got to meet Joe face to face. Lavar was charming and a gentleman. We went to movie dates, he drove from the Bronx to Brooklyn to bring me Cannoli's and just to spend time with me. Our conversations were never dry, and we would text/ talk throughout the day daily to each other. October 13, 2018 , we were both invited to return to an old campus we both went to Nyack College Rockland County (we went separate years). I was invited to perform with the step team and his friend invited him out to enjoy homecoming. We texted throughout the day as usual. I was originally not going to hang out that evening in Nyack, but I was invited out by some old friends on campus who were all going to be where he was, and of course I wanted to see him. We texted until we met together. Lavar was off a few drinks at this moment and his filter was completely gone. He introduced me to his friends. We talked a little bit and went back outside. We were cheesing seeing each other (think like High School Musical: Troy and Gabriella). While we were outside he made his move and wrapped his arms around me and smiled. We walked back into the downtown club and danced and had the night away. At one point it felt like it was just us on the dance floor, eyes focused, we stepped in rhythm with each other, it was beautiful. At around 12am on October 14th, he looked me in my eyes and asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. In the morning, while we were both fully aware of life, we spoke about homecoming night just to make sure we were on the same page in a sober mindset. We both decided to make our official dating date as 10/14/2018. And we have been together ever since.

On the night I proposed, she was having girls night with some of her closest friends. I had got the ring the night before and called both of her parents and asked if it was ok for me marry their daughter. I then called each of her friends that were coming for the girls night and informed them on what I had planned. Fast forward to the morning of she was getting ready to take me to work and I did my best to piss her off which mad her less happy to have the girls night. During my lunch break I reached out to see how she was doing and she was still upset and I was just laughing to myself because she has no Idea whats about to happen. After getting home for work I started to get dressed because I had to attend a baby shower and could you believe it, she was still upset. Right before leaving for the baby shower I asked if she wanted to take some pictures seeing that she looked amazing with her hair and makeup done. After the first set of pictures she stepped away from me to look how they came out. I fuddled the ring out my pocket, when she turned around my heart was racing and my smile was ear to ear. Her smile was ear to ear. After staring into her eyes I said, "Hay baby", she said "Hay". I told her, "I love you" and before she was able to say it back to me, I dropped to one knee to ask her to be my wife.

As many of you are not aware. Lavar and Aracelis had become legally married on March 8th, 2024. The decision came about after some thought to assure they were right in the eyes of God. They answer to Him before anyone else. After a few months of being engaged and giving it much thought and prayer, they felt led to make this decision. There were no regrets to this, and have been happily married since. Though they are legally married, a personal vow exchange and unity ceremony celebration will take place on October 6th, 2024 where invited family and friends are to attend.
