Flight

LAX

It's generally cheapest to fly into LAX, although you'll have a bit of a drive to our side of town. In case you'd like to check other, smaller airports, there are also the Hollywood Burbank Airport (Bob Hope) (and in Burbank, not Hollywood), the Long Beach Airport (LGB) (VERY far), and the John Wayne Airport in Orange County (SNA) (also very far).

Travel Note

AirBnb Neighborhoods

If you would like to reserve an AirBnb, but aren't sure which neighborhood to pick, here's a little more info: Mt. Washington - The closest neighborhood to our venue! Quiet, hilly, lots of cool little places up and down Figueroa (Antigua for coffee, Fig Earth Supply for plants, iam8bit for video game art, La Abeja for cozy Mexican food). Silverlake & Echo Park - Mostly hipsters in their 30s these days. Lots of food and music and interesting little stores; close to J's favorite landmark, Dodger Stadium. Juice bars etc, if that's your thing. Atwater Village - adorable, quiet, relatively walkable. Lots of fun restaurants, including our favorite breakfast burrito place, Tacos Villa Corona (it's just a window, no seating). East Hollywood (where we live!) - walkable, great food, close to parks, nightlife, movie theaters, etc. Hollywood - Where April grew up, so obviously one of our favorite neighborhoods! Lots to do and lots of tourists, depending where you are. Parking might be complicated and the speed limit on the main drag of Hollywood Blvd is lower than you think, so watch out for cops. North Hollywood - where all the voice actors live! Also home to labyrinthine used bookstore The Iliad, perfect summer bar Idle Hour, and our favorite Venezuelan restaurant, Coffee for Breakfast. Burbank - A slightly more suburby atmosphere; home of delicious and cheap Cuban bakery Porto's! Fun thrift/vintage stores all along Magnolia. Glendale - Family neighborhood, malls with free parking, the Museum of Neon, and dim sum at Din Tai Fung. Anything north of the 134 is going to be a pretty far drive. Highland Park - Gen Z hipsters; great food, fun music, cool thrift stores, more walkable areas. Koreatown - incredible food and nightlife; terrible street parking. If you get an Airbnb here, make sure it comes with a parking spot! If you have any questions about a neighborhood, please reach out to April or J and we'll do our best to give you some answers!
