Do I need a passport?

Yes. A valid passport is required for travel to the Dominican Republic. We recommend checking expiration dates early, as many airlines require passports to be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates.

When should I arrive and depart?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Thursday, October 15, so you can enjoy the welcome festivities and settle in before the wedding weekend. Most guests will depart Sunday or Monday, depending on travel plans.

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

Answer

Round-trip transportation from Las Américas International Airport (SDQ) is included with your stay. After booking your hotel, please email reservaciones@clubhemingway.com with your flight details to schedule pickup.

What to Pack

Answer

Lightweight clothing, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and breathable fabrics are highly recommended. October in the Dominican Republic is typically warm and humid (80–85°F). For beach events, wedges or flats are best for walking on sand.

Our events range from resort-chic to destination formal. Lightweight, breathable fabrics are recommended for the warm Caribbean climate. Specific attire details are listed on the Events page.

Can I bring a plus-one or guest?

Answer

Due to venue capacity and travel logistics, we kindly ask guests to only bring those listed on their invitation.

Are tipping and currency handled at the resort?

Answer

Most vendors accept tips in U.S. dollars, though some may take Dominican pesos. If you’d like to tip staff for exceptional service, small amounts in cash are appreciated. Hotels sometimes include service charges, so check your bill before tipping extra. (Currency exchange can also be done at the SDQ airport)

The resort provides Wi-Fi throughout the property, though speeds may vary. Most U.S. carriers work in the Dominican Republic, but check with your provider for international coverage or consider a local SIM card.

Club Hemingway is a boutique hotel, and while breakfast is included, other meals and drinks, including alcohol, are not. Guests are welcome to enjoy the resort’s on-site restaurant, explore nearby dining options, or plan meals around our wedding events.
