Adam began working at the Lebanon VA Medical Center as a PGY2 Pharmacy Administration resident, living in the converted apartment of a local barn (think "Roadhouse" with less drunken brawls and lots more chickens). Having completed her own PGY1 residency in 2015, Ambili was also working there as a PACT pharmacist. In search of new ways to have fun, he happily accepted Ambili's invitation to join her for some indoor climbing. Ambili was, of course, surprised that anyone actually accepted her offer, and even more surprised that he showed up on the agreed-upon day. In a manner very uncharacteristic, Adam poured out his life story to Ambili on the fateful drive to that gym, the first of many such conversations. More trips to the climbing gym followed by long drives to local ski slopes when the weather turned cold gave the pair a great opportunity to get to know each other.

After many trips to the gym and the slopes and unbeknownst to each, the two began to develop feelings for one another. Ambili managed to drag a confession out of Adam in the parking lot of a Giant grocery, where he professed his adoration for her. Some time later Adam designed a somewhat elaborate scheme which tied together elements representing several of their shared passions, including travel, adventure, good food, snowboarding, and music. After a night of climbing and breakfast at the "Chat 'n Chew", it was late in the afternoon on the cold slopes of Blue Mountain where he surprised her with a story about their beginning ... as well as a ring. With a tear freezing on her face, Ambili happily answered, "Yes!" to Adam's proposal, followed by, "Am I crying? I can't even feel my face right now."
