Donegal Recommendations

We're so grateful that you'll be travelling to Donegal to celebrate our wedding. To help you make the most of your trip, here are some recommendations (ok, a lot of recommendations!) of what to see, do, and eat in the local area.
Hike up Mount Errigal

Hike up Mount Errigal

Errigal is a Donegal icon - the tallest in the Seven Sister's mountain range. It'll take you about 2 hours to reach the summit where you'll be rewarded with incredible views of hills all the way down to the coastline.

Stroll around Ards Forest Park

Stroll around Ards Forest Park

Ireland

Ards has nine different walking trails depending on how leisurely or how rugged you like your walks. Either way, you'll be in beautiful surroundings with the forests leading right down to totally empty beaches. There's a wee cafe on site too.

Drink at the Crolly Distillery

Drioglann Chroithlí, Killindarragh, F92 XHH5, Ireland

If you end up going for a dip in the sea, warm yourself up after with a trip to the local whiskey distillery right in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht - the Irish speaking region of the county (don't worry, they do the tours in English!).

Travel to Sliabh Liag

Travel to Sliabh Liag

Shanbally, Ireland

Going further afield to South Donegal, you can't miss out on the spectacular sea cliffs at Sliabh Liag. In case you don't fancy the walk, you can always head to the pier down at Teelin and hop on one of the boat tours instead.

Big list of even more things to do, see, and eat in Donegal

Beach walks, local cafes, cosy pubs for a perfect pint of Guinness, incredible scenery...we've made a big list of the ultimate Donegal recommendations for you to enjoy either side of our wedding day.
