They met thanks to Senator Elizabeth Warren! Any was working for Elizabeth Warren's 2020 Presidential Campaign as a field organizer in San Antonio, and Kevin worked for the Warren Campaign in Iowa. After the Iowa Caucus in 2020, Kevin was deployed to organize in Texas. Fun fact: Kevin was not supposed to work in the San Antonio office, but the campaign could not find him supporter housing in the South Austin area. Although Kevin had long commutes between San Antonio and Austin, it was all worth it because he got to meet Any! On Kevin's first day at the San Antonio campaign office, Any walked in and said hello to Kevin while he was on a video call. We were on our way to Dover, Delaware from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the Firefly Festival. Any knew it was going to be a special weekend because every single time she asked Kevin about weekend details after the festival, he would tell her she would have to wait and see. Kevin told Any he was taking her on a birthday lunch date since her birthday was the previous day and wanted to celebrate just the two of them. Any noticed they were heading towards Baltimore and guessed correctly that were having lunch at Miss Shirley's Cafe, a restaurant they went to on their first trip together as a couple in June 2021. As they were walking towards the restaurant, Kevin took Any along the water of Inner Harbor and proposed! With so much joy and excitement, Any said yes! We couldn't wait any longer, so we decided to elope on our third-year anniversary! We exchanged some private vows in front of our parents and siblings at the Texas State capitol in Austin. Adam and Samy ordained our elopement in both English and Spanish, and it was very special to share such an intimate moment with our direct family.
