Things To Do

From close to (our) home in Nassau County to the many beaches to the North Fork, there's plenty to explore and do here on Long Island. Whether you're coming from out of town or you're a LI local, I'm sure there's something on here that would interest you!
Magic Fountain

Magic Fountain

9825 Main Road, Mattituck, NY 11952

Our favorite ice cream place on the Island! Handmade ice cream with rotating seasonal and unique flavors, we always try to make a stop here before going home when we're out East. Some of our favorite flavors are Rainbow Cookie, Cake Mix, Chocolate Brownie, and Sweet Corn (if it's in season)!

Briermere Farms

Briermere Farms

4414 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901

They have the best pies ever, and no one can convince us otherwise! The blueberry cream pie is absolute perfection. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell out!

Pugliese Vineyards

Pugliese Vineyards

34515 Main Road, Cutchogue, NY 11935

This is a smaller winery that's right next to the larger and more popular Pindar Vineyards. This was one of our favorite stops when we went vineyard hopping for our 6-year anniversary. They have a cute little koi and turtle pond, and a delicious pitcher of sangria!

Robert Moses State Park

Robert Moses State Park

Robert Moses Causeway, Babylon, NY 11702

~30 min drive from the Hyatt. This is a more laid back beach with a shorter walk to the water. This is our personal go-to beach when we aren't on the North Fork.

Jones Beach State Park

Jones Beach State Park

1 Ocean Parkway, Wantagh, NY 11793

~45 min drive from the Hyatt. This is a larger beach with a lively boardwalk, and this is where we have been playing our summer beach volleyball league for the past few years. They have mini golf, pickleball, and cornhole courts! There is also WildPlay Park, which has an aerial adventure course and ziplines. Depending on when you arrive, you might be able to catch a concert at the theatre overlooking the water!

Sunken Meadow State Park

Sunken Meadow State Park

New York State Reference Route 908K, Kings Park, NY 11754

~20 min drive from the Hyatt. We like to go on little hikes around here and we've tried going shed hunting (looking for loose deer antlers) once or twice. The sand here is a bit rockier, so we generally go fishing here rather than lay out in the sun.

Eisenhower Park

Eisenhower Park

1899 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow, NY 11554

There are seemingly endless things to do here! You could take a nice stroll amongst the many fields, hit a couple balls at the driving range, have a picnic by the pond, or go to one of the free concerts.

The Sunset Club at Tappen Beach

The Sunset Club at Tappen Beach

494 Prospect Avenue, Sea Cliff, NY 11579

A beachside restaurant and bar with live music. You could also bring your own chair/blanket to watch the sky turn pretty colors.

The Adventure Park at Long Island

The Adventure Park at Long Island

75 Colonial Springs Road, Wheatley Heights, NY 11798

This is how we celebrated Antonio's 21st birthday. An aerial ropes course and ziplining through the trees! It's a ton of fun, and they have courses that are friendly for all levels!

Tanger Outlets Deer Park

Tanger Outlets Deer Park

152 The Arches Circle, Deer Park, NY 11729

We went on our first date at the movie theatres here. Even though we're not big shoppers and we don't visit this place often, it still holds a special place in our hearts.
