We met on my 33rd birthday, I had been out at dinner with my friend Sydney and we decided to end our night at Sophie's Steakhouse with spicy martinis. Outside there was a tall handsome man smoking a cigarette. I went to ask for one and we ended up laughing all night together. He bought us our drinks as a "Happy Birthday" to me and wrote his number on the back of the receipt. We have been laughing ever since.

Zeb and I were staying in the most beautiful resort the first 4 nights of our Thailand trip, visiting my brother Peter, his wife Eliah and new baby Silas. I woke up on Thursday April 20th to Zeb telling me he had planned a surprise for me that evening; a boat ride and dinner on the beach. I had my suspicions. He knew I'd be investigating and wondering if this was it, so he made sure to try to throw me off the scent of the proposal with silly, small things. On the boat he had ordered beer instead of champagne. Sure enough I thought to myself, he wouldn't propose with beer mugs instead of champagne, right? As the sun on our boat ride started to set, he started the proposal. In true Zeb style, he thought he could "wing" the speech part of the proposal, so the babbling began. Confused at first, I finally understood what was happening. Tears, excitement and a few "oh my god's" and we were engaged! Waiting on the beach was a private dinner set up with the most beautiful canopy of flowers, candle walkways, and champagne.
