Not only does the Patriots’ Falcons Super Bowl mark one of the greatest comebacks of all time, it also marks where Mikey and Olivia's story began. Back in 2017, Mikey and Olivia were freshmen at Worcester State. They had mutual friends and shared the same spaces, but somehow their paths never really crossed. That is, until the night of the infamous 28–3 comeback. After the Patriots pulled off the seemingly impossible, Olivia and friends showed up at Mikey’s dorm where everyone had gathered for the victory celebration. For the first time, Mikey and Olivia actually talked, and after that night, they kept finding reasons to be around each other. If there was a gathering and they heard the other one was going to be there, they made sure they were too. It was easy from the start. Conversation came naturally, there were always a lot of laughs, and being around each other felt comfortable in a way that was hard to explain, almost like they had found the same person in a different form. Their first official date was at Woo Berry in Worcester for frozen yogurt. They took a Worcester State rental car with borderline faulty brakes, which somehow made the night even more memorable. They thankfully made it there and back in one piece, and ended up staying long after the frozen yogurt was gone, just talking and getting to know each other better. Not long after, they took a day trip to hike Mount Pack Monadnock and had lunch at the top. The car ride was filled with nonstop conversation and a few very confident duets. Somewhere between Woo Berry and the summit, they both knew this was different. When Mikey met Olivia’s family for the first time, he was welcomed by Mackenzie in true older-sister fashion - rapid-fire questions, a full evaluation, and even a serious inquiry into whether his blue eyes were real or if he was secretly wearing colored contacts. He confirmed they are in fact real. In the years that followed, life unfolded in the best way. There were beach days and time spent on Plum Island, weekends away in Maine, and long summers spent driving back and forth between Westford and Bridgewater just to spend time together. They learned how to navigate real life side by side, starting their careers, getting through a pandemic that kept them 50+ days apart, and supporting each other through every change along the way. Eventually, they made a home together in Natick, settling into a rhythm of quiet weeknights cooking meals together and weekends spent visiting family, mixed in with kayaking trips, bike rides, fishing days, and plenty of time cheering on their favorite teams or watching golf. All the kind of everyday moments that slowly turned into a life together. Now, over eight and a half years later, not much has changed. It’s still easy. Still full of laughter. And still, there favorite place to be is together. And in a full-circle kind of way, Mikey proposed on Plum Island while they were walking the beach looking for sea glass. Just the two of them on a quiet Sunday morning, doing one of their favorite simple things. From a historic comeback to forever, they wouldn’t change a thing, and cannot wait to celebrate with all of their favorite people in August!
