We connected on the dating app "Bumble" in January of 2018. We started a friendly conversation over mindless tasks such as the perils of folding laundry. It didn't take long for Bennie's boyish humor to intrigue Antoinette into accepting his invitation to meet over dinner. Our first date coincided with a big Saints Football game which is Bennie's favorite team. However, he must have known he needed to meet Antoinette that night. We met at a popular tapas restaurant in Arlington Virginia to get to know each other and have a small bite. The date was a success and it wasn't long until we decided to have our second date the next day. From the first date to today, we have been two peas in a pod, there for each other in good times and there for each other when times are shaky. To have and to hold and love as we grow old.

Bennie proposed on Christmas Eve 2020 at The Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. The hotel hosts an iconic Christmas light display in its main lobby known as the Waldorf Wonderland. During our Christmas trip, Bennie decided to book a stay overnight at the hotel. While posing for a photo surrounded by the beautiful lights, Bennie acted as if he saw friends off in the distance and said, "Wait!, Is that who I think it is over there?", to distract Antoinette from seeing him begin to get down on one knee. Antoinette was confused as she averted her gaze in the direction Bennie was pointing. It took Antoinette a few seconds to give up on figuring who it could be in the crowd she was searching for. Once she looked back at Bennie he was getting down on one knee. He popped the question the answer was YES!
