Yes! You will need a passport to travel to Greece - please also note, you cannot travel internationally if your passport is expiring within 6 months of your departure/return date so double check your expiration dates and renew your passport ahead of time!
The official currency of Greece is the Euro, and no other currency is accepted. Currency exchange is available at banks, exchange offices, and the airport (which often offers the best rates). Be sure to carry some cash as smaller vendors, kiosks, and taxis may not accept credit cards.
Semi-Formal/Cocktail - remember we'll be outside in the middle of summer which means it'll be HOT. Greece tends to cool down at night and we'll be along the coast so it should feel cooler when the sun comes down but either way prepare for heat. For the vacation itself, summer temperatures in Athens average 86F so pack lightweight clothing and sunscreen!
TBD! We are still coordinating these plans. The website will be updated with this information once finalized and will also be included on the formal invite.
Primary language is Greek but almost everyone speaks English
Totally not necessary but up to you! We typically travel around via taxi. You can also download "Free Now" app for convenient taxi service. Uber operates in Greece but only connects users to traditional yellow taxis. Taxi Tip: Ensure the meter is on and displaying Tariff 1. Tariff 2 (from midnight to 5AM) is twice as expensive.
Greece uses a 220V Power Supply (in the US we use 110V) so bring a voltage converter or the appropriate plug adapter.
Since you’re traveling for our wedding, making the trip is a gift in itself — physical gifts are absolutely not necessary! If you do choose to browse our wedding registry, however, any items on the list can be shipped directly to our home address. *Wedding registry coming soon!*
