We're getting married!

It all began back in Elementary school. Yep, you read that correctly. Elementary school. Now, you might be wondering, how does a childhood friendship turn into a love story for the ages? Well, let me tell you, it’s a long, twisty ride. Oscar, the class president (naturally), was living his best life in his leadership role, while Anthoula was... well, Anthoula. Oscar's had the same group of friends his entire life, while Anthoula was always exploring different friend groups. But through all the rotations, there was one constant: Oscar. Fast forward to Glen Cove High School—where Oscar and Anthoula graduated, probably with the same level of excitement you feel about a Tuesday morning. Then, they both ended up at Nassau Community College. They were friends, obviously, but you know how it is in college. Everyone has a “we’re just friends” vibe... except this time, something was brewing, folks. Fate, or maybe just some very questionable life decisions, led them to Baruch College. Anthoula would drive into Astoria, then hop on the subway to get to Baruch, like some kind of public transportation warrior. Oscar, naturally, would hitch a ride with her—because who doesn’t want a free ride to college and a best friend to chat with on the way? Up until this point, they had both been in separate relationships, just cruising along, thinking “eh, nothing to see here.” Except then, October of 2016, Halloween night happened, they were both coincidentally single. Cue dramatic music. That night, they found themselves at Output in Brooklyn (and if you know, you know). They weren’t dressed up. Not a single costume between them. But what did they do? They declared themselves as Mr. & Mrs. Smith—the most original costume choice you could ever imagine. Hey, at least they were matching, right? And then… the Mr. Smith energy took over Oscar. I’m talking full-on, 007-level confidence. He pulled Anthoula aside and, in a move that could only be described as borderline confessing his undying love for her, told her he was into her. Okay, fine—I’m exaggerating a bit, but you get the point. Suddenly, the idea of a relationship was out there, floating in the universe like an awkwardly dropped mic. Now, Anthoula had never really thought about Oscar in that way before, but once he put the romantic idea on the table—well, let’s just say, she was 100% here for it. The rest is history, right? Well, hold your horses—because things don’t always move that fast in Oscar’s world. It took him a whole year and a half from that night to finally ask Anthoula to be his girlfriend. Yes, you heard that right—February 14th, 2018, he finally pulled the trigger. The world was waiting with bated breath for Oscar’s next move. Now, fast-forward 7 (mhm, seven) years later, in true Oscar fashion, on March 1st, 2025, he finally pops the question: “Will you marry me?” And Anthoula, with the kind of sass only she could muster, responded with: “Abso-fucking-lutely.” And here we are, folks. Ready to celebrate not just the one-of-a-kind history of how these two got here, but the epic future they’re about to build together. It’s been a wild ride, and we’re just getting started.
