Option 1: Directly flying into Queretaro city

Option 1, allows you to fly directly into the city of Queretaro. This option is recommended for less experienced travelers or travelers flying with small children or time constraints. There are only a handful of airlines that fly directly into the city of Queretaro: American Airlines United Airlines Delta Air Aeromexico Volaris Viva Aerobus Pros: Less travel time, less hassle, fewer stops. Cons: Airfare might be a bit more expensive, fewer airline options. Taxi price from the Queretaro airport to downtown Queretaro is approximately MX400 pesos ($20 US dollars) and the ride is anywhere from 20 minutes with no traffic to 40 minutes with traffic. UBER is available and highly recommended.

Flight

Option 2: Fly into Mexico City and take a bus to Queretaro city

Option 2: This option increases the number of airlines that guests can choose from to fly into Mexico due to Mexico City being a large hub, and occasionally you can find more affordable flights. Some of those airlines are: American Airlines Delta United Airlines Spirit Airlines Frontier Southwest Aeromexico Volaris Cons: Even though this option might provide cheaper flight options into Mexico City, it will most likely increase your travel time. Please keep in mind that the bus ride from Mexico City's airport to the city of Queretaro is about 3 to 3.5 hours long. When purchasing bus tickets from Mexico City Airport to Queretaro, make sure to choose "Ciudad De México, Aeropuerto T1 (Mexico City Airport Terminal 1)" or "Ciudad De México, Aeropuerto T2 (Mexico City Airport Terminal 2)" as a departure location and "Querétaro, Terminal De Autobuses (Queretaro, Bus terminal)" as your final destination. Note: The bus company is "Primera Plus", it departs from Mexico City's terminal 2 first, then stops at Mexico City Airport terminal 1 to then carry on the 3-3.5 hrs. trip to Queretaro.

If you choose to travel to Queretaro via Bus from Mexico City, please know that buses are clean and very comfortable. They typically have Wi-Fi and a bathroom on board. The bus ride is 3-3.5 hours long from the airport terminal to the bus terminal in Queretaro. When purchasing bus tickets from Mexico City to Queretaro city, you'll have two departure location options: "Ciudad De México, Aeropuerto T1 (Mexico City Airport Terminal 1)" or "Ciudad De México, Aeropuerto T2 (Mexico City Airport Terminal 2)" choose between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 based on your arrival terminal into Mexico City. For arrival location, choose "Querétaro, Terminal De Autobuses (Queretaro, Bus terminal)" as your final destination.
