If you are staying on Staten Island, Newark is actually the closest airport, but JFK also works. If you are staying in another borough, JFK, Laguardia, or Newark are all accessible.
Sure! Staten Island hotels all have free parking, and Staten Island is much more suburban, driveable and parkable than the other boroughs of NYC. If you plan to stay in Manhattan, we recommend you fly in and use public transit as parking is much harder!
By ferry! You can get to the ferry by bus (google maps will tell exactly how), uber, or car [we'd recommend parking in the paid lot under the mall, across from the ballpark, and then taking the "fast ferry" (ferry.nyc) but there are a few other paid lots nearby both the fast ferry and the "free ferry" (siferry.com).]
Valet parking will be provided at the wedding! If you plan to drink, we ask that you opt for ubers, car pools, and our hotel shuttle so we can keep the roads safe and sober. :)
Take the Staten Island Ferry! We recommend you take the 4:00pm ferry to be safe. Once on Staten Island, the S52 bus goes straight from the ferry terminal to The Vanderbilt at South Beach or you can catch an Uber.
Google maps makes it incredibly easy (it's 2023 y'all) to know which trains and buses to take to get where you're going. Uptown means north-bound, Downtown means south-bound. Pay attention to signage to make sure you're getting on the right train/bus. Every New Yorker has had to get through some public trans trial and error, just consider it part of the experience. When in doubt, uber and lyft are great apps to keep downloaded on your phone. ;)
