Kyle wasn't going to wear a jacket on a particular night out with friends in March of 2014, but he is glad he did. As the night wrapped up, Kyle and his friends made their way to the coat check line to gather their jackets on the way out. After waiting in line for several minutes, Kyle felt a tap on his shoulder and turned around to find a young woman named Katharine asking him to keep her friend occupied while she went to the bathroom. Anthony introduced himself to Kyle and five minutes later, jackets in hand but not quite wanting the conversation to end, Kyle and Anthony grabbed a sausage and pepper sub from one of Boston's iconic street vendors. Little did they know this would be their first of MANY meals together. After the three of them took the T to Brookline and said goodnight, they both knew it may very well be the start of something special. For those that know them, it is no surprise that the string of dates to follow centered around food - fried rice and dumplings on date one; tacos and margaritas on date two; sushi on date three, and so on. Three months later, after attending a Red Sox game literally next to where they met, they made it official and started building a life together. Five years later, they've shared a million more conversations, thousands of more meals, dozens of inside jokes, and countless memories. They've explored other countries, traversed throughout all of New England, and of course tried new foods and stuck to reliable ones. They've started new jobs; purchased cars; adopted a devilish cat (Reese) and a stubborn but loving puppy (Cali); and have lived together in two apartments. Anthony popped the question to Kyle last summer on a flawless day in their second-favorite city - NYC (don't tell the Red Sox). They thank all of their family, friends, and loved ones from the bottom of their heart who have been there throughout this journey, and are thrilled to be sharing their love with them in the city where it all began.
