Meet us in Hawaii!

As the only two single people at Farin & Jason's wedding, the schemed a plan to introduce us to each other. Jason picked Anthony up from the airport and after 10 mins of pleasantries and updates on life, Jason planted the seed, "We have someone we want you to meet." Meanwhile, Farin and Juli were at Farin's venue site when she mentions, "We want to introduce you to our friend Anthony." With Juli being as crafty as she is, Farin thought the best way to create a connection was to highlight Anthony's Craftiness, "He is also crafty like you! He dressed up as an Avocado for Halloween!" In which Juli responded with "Ew, and was his belly the avocado pit?" Fast forward a couple hours, Anthony shows up to the venue where Juli had been working to setup for Farin & Jason's wedding. The official first meet happens, Jason introduces us to each other, Anthony goes in for a local kiss on the cheek greeting while Juli goes in for a handshake followed with Juli saying "Did I just mainland hello you?" AWKWARD, but the rest is history! Thanks to Farin and Jason for getting married and setting us up! A few weeks after leaving the island, we kept in touch and Anthony came to visit Juli for their first visit, two in a half years later, Anthony moves down to San Diego and proposes on the same day!

The day was finally here! The day Anthony would be making the move from Hayward to San Diego. We had spent 2 1/2 years doing long distance between Northern California and Southern California, but Anthony was beginning his 8 hour drive down south. The plan was that he was going to stop off in LA to meet a friend for lunch and be in SD by 4:00 which gave Juli enough time to wrap up her day. In anticipation of the big day, Anthony tried to plan a celebratory event, but Juli being Juli (and with COVID) kept shutting down the ideas. Little did she know what was to happen next! It's now 3:15 PM, Juli is working at her friends house that she has been housesitting for a couple of weeks and Anthony pulls up to the gate, knocks on the glass door and is down on one knee! Neither Juli or Bowzer (the dog they were watching) noticed him setting up the scene. Once they both heard a knock, chaos ensued. Bowzer is barking at this stranger at the door, Juli runs away down the hall and Anthony is still on one knee. Once she composes herself with the excitement of Anthony proposing AND he has finally arrived to San Diego, she makes her way back to the front door and says "YES" (with a few explicatives included). Thanks to the Malins family for letting us housesit your house for 6 weeks! You can never sell your Del Mar house as it now has sentimental value to the Valverde family and Bowzer has also become an honorary member of the family!
