Anthony and Chelsie first set eyes on each other at a pre-game to a Halloween block party. The pre-game was at Anthony's co-worker, Troy Kozie, and; Chelsie's eyelash esthetician, Tawni's house. Not much was said between the two, they drank and conversed with other attendees then separated into Ubers to head to the event. The first location was uneventful. The artist took one look at the small crowd and dipped. They circled to discuss where to go next. Then something happened. Tony started talking and Chelsie felt this literal good energy and vibe wash over her body. She leaned in Tawni's ear and whispered "he's pretty cute," simultaneously Tony to Troy "she's pretty." Then they separated again. Chelsie headed to Mill avenue in a party bus and Tony ubered there. The group was separated for the majority of the night but Chelsie somehow ran into the three again. That's when Chelsie and Tony went into long conversations, pointing out similarities and likes. The night ended with Tony asking Chelsie for permission to kiss her. One kiss was shared, then a phone number, and a week later Chelsie asked Tony on their first date...then they were inseparable since.
They were eating breakfast in Waikiki with Chelsie's family when the topic of rings came up. Not an engagement ring, but a Tahitian pearl ring...or earring...or necklace. Chelsie just wanted Tahitian pearls on this trip! She tried on her mom's ring and wanted to take a picture to post but Tony was concerned that people would assume they were engaged. So she gave the ring back and that was the end of the ring conversation. The next morning Tony asked if Chelsie wanted to go on a hike. At first, she was surprised that he would want to go so early, but then she just figured he wanted some alone time. At the beginning of the Diamond Head trail, they stopped to ask someone to take a picture. Tony fumbled in his backpack for a while, Chelsie hurried him and he finally brought out his sunglasses for the picture. When they got to the top of the crater they did the same thing. Asked someone to take the picture, he fumbled forever in the backpack, she was posing and pestering him to hurry up. When she turned to see what he was doing in the bag Tony was on his knee, black ring box in hand, and said "I wanted to ask this for a long time now, will you marry me?" She asked if he was serious and thought he was playing with her. She was sure there were Tahitian pearls in that box. Then he opened it and there was this pear-shaped diamond ring. He asked again, "so will you?" She of course said "yes! "The surrounding tourist clapped and cheered. They ventured off to the side of the trail on a bench and shared tears of joy, kisses, and smiles. At that moment it was just the two of them looking forward to their future together.
