Annie and Anthony met like many children of the Internet in the early 2000s did, on AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). They became fast friends and talked to and confided in one another through their teenage blunder years. Annie even wrote about Anthony in her journal! But nothing was then to become of this Chicago girl and Warminster boy, at least not yet. They continued to talk and keep in touch, often speaking late into the night. One of Annie's fondest memories is talking to Anthony through Barack Obama's first presidential campaign. They would discuss politics and political talking heads, and roll their eyes attempting to correct misinformation and false assumptions. Annie even got into arguments on the Bucks County Intelligencer website when Anthony and his father were featured there as "A House Divided." Anthony remarked that Annie was "even more informed about the election than [he was]." During college, a busy Annie and Anthony fell out of touch. Those years were very sad for both of them, until September 2014 when Anthony sent Annie a Facebook friend request and wondered if she'd remember him. Gleefully she accepted the request, and the friendship continued as it had begun: strong, exciting, and special. By October, Annie and Anthony began visiting regularly and in May 2015, Annie packed up her life into her Ford Fusion and drove to Pennsylvania, starting in a studio apartment "for the summer" to see how the relationship would progress. And progress it did. Annie never looked back. In October 2019, five years after finally meeting in person, Anthony spent several days creating a beautiful experience for Annie, culminating in a proposal at Philadelphia’s LOVE Park. Annie joyfully accepted the proposal, and can’t wait to be married to Anthony, and share the day with all of their family and friends who supported them along the way.
